Your team: roles and access

GuideUpdated October 16, 2026

In short

Everyone in your shop is an owner, a receptionist or an employee. Receptionists run the front desk and the catalogue, employees see their own appointments and clients, and only the owner changes the shop's settings and team.

The three roles

Owner
Everything
Settings, the team, analytics and billing, and everything below.
Receptionist
The front desk
Every calendar and client, services and packages, holidays and photos. Can read, but not change, the shop's details and weekly hours.
Employee
Their own work
Their appointments, and the clients they work with.
Everyone
Their own profile
Their details, preferences, notifications and Google Calendar.

A few things only the owner can do, even among managers: change the shop's settings, invite or remove people, see the shop's analytics and billing, and retire or delete services. Receptionists can erase or export a single client's data, and merge duplicate clients. In Analytics they read What's ahead and Lost time for the whole shop, without amounts.

Employees see the clients they created or have appointments with, and nobody else's. Owners and receptionists see every client.

The owner can open the team's clients and calendars to employees, in Access to the team's clients and calendars: then every employee sees every client and every calendar, can book on a colleague's calendar, and can change what they booked. Each employee's page can also set it for that one person.

Invite from the Team page, with Invite member. The link in the email lasts 7 days; Resend invite sends a fresh one. To fix a typo in the email, remove the pending member and invite them again. When accepting, they confirm their name and date of birth and choose a password. Someone who already uses Scisso elsewhere keeps their password, and can switch between shops with one login.

Changing roles

On a member's page, the owner can change them to Receptionist or back. A shop always keeps at least one owner.
