Create, move and cancel appointments
In short
Book from the + button or by tapping an empty slot, reschedule an appointment by dragging it or picking it up with Move, and cancel it from its page. Your client hears about each change by SMS and email, unless the change is one they would not notice.
Booking an appointment
There are a few ways in, depending on your screen:
- On a phone
The + in the bottom bar.
- On a computer
The + at the top of the calendar.
- Anywhere in Day or Week view
Tap an empty slot, or drag across a few to set the length in one go.
Unless you chose otherwise in your profile, this opens step by step, which asks one question at a time. On the full form (Pick from lists), pick the client (or create one on the spot), the specialist, the service and the time. The end time fills itself from the service's length. If your Google Calendar is connected, the appointment appears there too.

What a client receives
Hello Maria, you're booked in at Linden Hair Studio on Thursday 16 October at 14:30 with Ana. See you then!
Hello Maria, your visit to Linden Hair Studio has moved. You are now booked for Friday 17 October at 11:00.
An example. Every shop writes its own messages.
A client without a phone number gets these by email only, if you have their address.
Moving or rescheduling an appointment
There are three ways, depending on how far it is going:
- Drag itIn Day or Week view, drag it to its new time (on a phone, press and hold first), then confirm. Quickest when the new time is on screen.
- Move itOpen the appointment and tap Move. The calendar opens on its day and the appointment waits in a small tray while you look around other days, weeks and specialists. Tap a free time, or drag it out of the tray, then confirm.
- Edit itOpen the appointment, choose Edit and type the new date and time.
Move is made for the phone call where the client asks "what else do you have?". Nothing changes until you confirm the new time, and the X on the tray puts the appointment back untouched. A visit with several services moves as one.
The client gets an updated message only when they would notice the difference. Changing the service alone, or moving the end time when your message only mentions the start, sends nothing. If the confirmation has not gone out yet, it simply goes out with the new time instead.
Quick actions from the calendar
In Day or Week view, press and hold an appointment until it lifts, then let go. A small bar of icons appears beside it: Move, Edit and Cancel. For a booking request from your online page it offers Confirm, Edit and Reject instead. Confirm and Reject need a second tap, because the client is told straight away. A request like that stays at the time the client asked for until you answer it, so it cannot be dragged.
While the bar is showing, drag the handle at the top or bottom of the appointment to change when it starts or ends, then tap the tick to save. You confirm the new time before anything changes. Once an appointment has started, only its end can be dragged. To move the whole appointment instead, just drag it.
On a computer, right-click the appointment.
Cancelling an appointment
Open the appointment and choose Cancel. On an appointment that is still ahead it sits under ⋯, next to Move and Edit. You are asked who is cancelling, you or the client, so your records stay honest.
- A confirmed appointment
- The client is told
- A cancellation message goes out by SMS and email.
- A tentative hold
- Nothing is sent
- The client was never told about it.
- An online request you have not answered
- A rejection
- Cancelling it counts as declining, so the client gets the rejection message.
- Anything already in the past
- Nothing is sent
- There is nothing left for them to change.
Cancelling also frees the slot on your booking page, deletes the event from Google Calendar and refunds an online payment according to your payment policy. If someone on your waitlist wants that slot, Scisso offers to book them in.
When a client does not come
Once a confirmed appointment has started, its page shows No-show. In the appointment list you can also swipe it right and tap No-show. If you marked the wrong one, Undo no-show puts it back.
- The client
- Is not told
- No message goes out, and no follow-up text either.
- Their history
- Not counted as a visit
- It counts as a no-show on their page and in your statistics.
- A paid deposit
- Is kept
- Your statistics show it under **Kept from no-shows**.
- A visit with several services
- Marked as a whole
- Employees mark only their own appointments.
Blocking time
To keep time for yourself, open + and choose Block time from the menu in the corner (the icon with a small arrow). A busy block is hidden from online booking and syncs to your Google Calendar. Your team can still book over it when they need to, after a warning.
