Adding customers without duplicates
In short
A customer needs only a first and last name. Add a phone number too, or they get no text reminders. Scisso refuses a second customer with the same phone or email, so each client stays one record.
Adding a customer
On the Customers page, choose New customer. You can also create one on the spot while booking, with Create new customer.
- Required
- First and last name
- Everything else can come later.
- Worth adding
- Phone number
- Without one, a customer gets no text reminders.
- Optional
- They get your appointment emails.
- Added later
- Birthday, language, notes
- From the customer's page, under Edit.
The phone box starts on your shop's country, and the number is saved in international format so texts reach it wherever the client travels. Names are tidied as you save: extra spaces go, and "MARIA POPESCU" becomes "Maria Popescu".
A new customer speaks your shop's language until you change theirs.
No duplicates
When you save, Scisso checks the phone and email against your other customers. If either is already on file, you see who it belongs to, and Use this opens that customer instead. A second customer with the same phone or email cannot be saved.
- Matched on
- Phone or email
- Two clients can share a name. They cannot share a number.
- Checked against
- Your shop only
- Customers of other businesses on Scisso never come into it.
- When a client books online
- The same record
- A matching phone or email reuses the customer you already have.
Finding a customer
Search by name, phone or email, from three letters. Accents do not matter: "stefan" finds "Ștefan".
Employees see the customers they work with: the ones they created, or have appointments with. Owners and receptionists see everyone.
